Protecting the Egg

When we found out our task, everyone in the group started to share their ideas of how they thought would be the best way to keep the egg from breaking. After jotting down the different ideas we all finally agreed on one that we felt would be the most effective.

Although we didn't know about the planning process that was later discussed in our next class, I think looking at it now we naturally ended up following most of the steps. The first thing we did is to define our objective, which was to keep the egg from breaking. Second, we looked at our resources, and came to the decision that the best thing to do was to to cut the straws in half, that way we would have more protection all around the egg. Thirdly, after jotting down the ideas that we had we looked at all of them individually and everyone gave their input on the ideas that thought would/wouldn't work. The only step that we skipped of the planning process was step 4 because we didn't really plan out and assign specific jobs. When we got our resources, people naturally found their role in the project whether it was holding the straws in place, taping them together or cutting pieces of tape and handing it to person who was actually taping the straws together. Overall I felt like our team worked very well together.

And finally the evaluation of our plan came when we dropped the egg into the basket...and unfortunately our egg ended up getting slightly cracked

Sorry to hear that your egg cracked...It looks like your group did follow the required steps. Like our group we also did not delegate who was going to do what, we too just all chipped in and started to work as a team because we all were motivated to get the five points toward our exam. I think motivation plays a big part in succeeding in a task that everyone contributes in. I also think that planning first out tasks gives you a more advantage to understanding the problem and tackling it in a more better advantage then not having a plan. Also, acting spontaneous also wins!

Even though your group didn't plan out who play what roles but figuring it yourself as it goes, I think it was great, because it seem like you guys know what you're good at, which really saved some time. But sorry to hear that yor egg cracked. But don't worry, our egg cracked too.

I believe that your team did work well together and had a cohesive plan to get to your objective. Your team brainstormed and came up with the most effective plan for building the contraption and the process in building the contraption was very efficient. Unfortunately you did not succeed but it was no fault to your group they did the best they could and that is all you can ask for in this project. GOOD JOB!

Although your egg cracked, it seemed that your group had a set plan and went about to achieve it. Even though you didn't succeed you still had a fun experience
